A new era for Ibexa: from CMS to DXP

In these extraordinary times, I wanted to share some very positive feelings and news about our organization. Over the past 20 years, eZ has gone through different phases as a company: its launch as an open source project in the 2000s, internationalization and growth from 2007-2013, as well as experiencing more challenging times in 2013-2017 with italy phone number for whatsapp a complete revamp of our platform. These investments in the platform seem to have paid off: I am very happy to share that the past two years, and especially 2019, have been the best years in eZ’s history, both in terms of progress on the technological side and in terms of financial results. And right now, the first quarter of 2020, has become by far our best quarter. The main reason explaining this upward trend is a successful repositioning strategy in the market.

FROM CMS TO DIGITAL EXPERIENCE PLATFORM
For the first 15 years of its existence, eZ has focused on, and was known as, a strong Content Management Systems provider. We have been a visionary leader when it comes to our approach to content, as reusable assets can be repurposed and reused across any channel. This is highly effective for any company that is serious about digitization and achieving true multi-channel engagement with its customers.

However, in recent years, we have seen that the market, as well as our clients and partners, wanted to go beyond the engagement phase of the customer journey, beyond the editorial marketing purpose of a platform like ours.

Business leaders are now better educated regarding digital transformation. They are breaking down silos in their organizations and thinking in cross-functional terms. Therefore, the requirement for digital platforms capable of handling all touch points in the customer journey, from the first contact with a brand’s website to an e-commerce transaction or post-sales process, became a necessity. As a result, the emergence of the Digital Experience Platform (DXP) came into being to facilitate companies in becoming truly digital businesses.

By acquiring a B2B e-commerce technology, which was built on our CMS, combined with our existing personalization technology and the consistent Symfony development framework, eZ has become a digital experience platform provider. And I would add that our DXP is fully unified: where the combination of content and e-commerce has a native character.
