OETTINGER’S WARNING: Who would want to do business with a Global Britain that doesn’t pay its bills? If new PM Boris Johnson is serious when threatening not to hand over the U.K.’s £39-billion financial settlement to the EU, “it would jeopardize the credit rating of the United Kingdom,” Günther Oettinger told Tagesspiegel newspaper, adding that refusing to pay up would also endanger future cooperation with the EU.
