For me, this is the central pillar of good ethical communication. To fight against greenwashing, there is nothing better than authenticity and transparency . The opacity shown by some companies demonstrates their deceptive practices.

And that's not what the consumer wants anymore. We know all the trickster techniques. We want the real thing.

As I said at the beginning of the article, as a consumer and environmental activist, I do not expect a company to be perfect . I know that no one can be. Individually or collectively. We are all moving forward on our path and we are not at the same stage of progress.

It's the same for companies. Each one has its own evolution and does things on its own scale.

Let's take my example of a company that claims to be eco-responsible because its products are packaged in 100% recycled and recyclable plastic. Instead of communicating at length on this point, why not brazil whatsapp number data acknowledge that this is not the ideal solution and that it is trying to do better? Why not expose its questions? Why not share the steps towards truly eco-responsible packaging?

Showing a bit of vulnerability is not counterproductive for your business . On the contrary. You prove to your followers that you are aware of the things you can do better on . I promise you, it works! My client, Claire de Sakaïdé , was totally transparent with her community during the Covid-19 epidemic. She didn't know if she should make masks and how. It made her question a lot. So, she shared this with her community. Result: several hundred reactions/comments and just as many orders placed. So, transparency and authenticity don't pay?

I won't elaborate on this point too much because I wrote an entire article ( with two testimonials from people I greatly admire ) on authenticity and transparency .

You will have understood through this very long article: greenwashing is a thorny subject . I know that my vision may not be yours. And once again, it's okay. We can discuss it here or on social networks. However, this practice is dangerous because it is misleading . And for me, a company should never try to cheat its future customers. But once again, that only involves me and my morals.
