At the invitation of my friend Matthew Carpenter-Arévalo, I gave a quick presentation to the entrepreneurs at the Impacto Quito coworking space about Inbound Marketing as part of one of the sessions of Matt's Digital Marketing Workshop. The goal was to share practical tips on how an entrepreneur can implement this successful methodology to sell more and grow their business.

We have already talked about what Inbound Marketing is and what it is not , but it is always worth refreshing the concept. It is the set of strategies designed to attract customers instead of chasing them, through relevant content disseminated mainly in digital media.

With this starting point and the feedback from the attendees, vp risk email database I summarize below the 5 tips that we found most useful with the group of entrepreneurs who participated in the workshop mentioned above.

1. Combine lean methodology with initial research for your Inbound strategy
In a previous article we mentioned the ways to apply Lean Customer Development tools for the initial part of the strategy, the definition of the target market (buyer personas or ideal client). But this tip is more aimed at the business strategy. It is essential that your venture is based on a real problem and that your offer is a solution that people are willing to pay for. Therefore, the recommendation is that before starting your promotion program, you make sure that your business model is viable using lean tools such as the Javeline board and the lean canvas. If you have not done so yet, I recommend that you give this article a thorough reading .

2. Define what relevant content you can generate to attract your ideal client
The Inbound methodology is based on attraction. And to attract people it is essential to generate relevant content, promote it appropriately and make it easy to find. The best way to achieve this is to make sure you know your potential client well and know not only their problems but also the biggest pains that your product/service will help them alleviate.

The purpose is not to try to help in order to end up selling something but to truly be of help to people by answering their questions and resolving their concerns with quality content. The key is to be authentic and not lose sight of the reason why you decided to undertake: to improve people's lives through your product/service.
