In very simple terms, prospecting means proactively looking for sales opportunities by interacting with people who have never come into contact with our company before. As such, the definition is simple and allows us to understand that it is a human, "one-on-one" job since it requires interaction between people.

It is crucial to highlight the importance of the previous paragraph in order to categorize prospecting correctly: it is always an effort that must be carried out by the Sales team, or by the people in charge of selling in the company. The first thing this allows us to do is to differentiate between actions (and above all responsibilities) between Marketing and Sales, and thus ensure that we are doing both types of work to generate income for our company.
