Addition: also interesting to look at is the Marketing Manifesto with which professional organizations call on marketers to make a meaningful impact.

Do you know this? You have been on a website, you have not accepted the cookies, but you still see advertisements from the website in question everywhere. That is no coincidence. A good 80% of the cookie banners that you see on websites do not work properly. It gives the user a feeling of

Unfortunately, this happens all too often. The cause often lies in an incorrect configuration of the cookie banner. This does not stop cookies until permission has been given for them to be placed. The result? Cookies are placed, regardless of whether or not you give permission. Incidentally, I have not yet discussed the layout of a cookie banner. Previous articles such as this one and this one on Frankwatching described this very well.

Some numbers
A small survey (N=47) among marketers, australia telegram data 3 million entrepreneurs, product developers and web builders revealed the following insights:

90% consider the GDPR important and want to comply with it.
27.7% think that the website fully complies with the GDPR requirements regarding cookies.
61.7% have done something about the GDPR, but do not know whether it is sufficient and therefore cannot say with certainty that the website complies with the GDPR.
There is therefore a clear gap between the importance of the GDPR and the ability of organisations to actually comply with it. Of the respondents, no less than 93.6% indicate that cookies and the GDPR legislation are complex. People simply do not know when you are fully compliant and how to achieve this.

Add to that the fact that the subject is seen as very boring (34%) and time-consuming (23.4%). All this creates circumstances where organizations make an attempt, but are actually still in violation. A waste of time and effort. In this article I describe by means of a comparison how and where it goes wrong and what you can do about it.
