Fixed broadband speed in Brazil falls below the minimum contracted level
According to a survey carried out by PROTESTE, a non-profit association for the defense of consumer rights, around 73% of broadband plans in Brazil do not deliver internet speeds in accordance with the minimum quality parameters established by Anatel, the National Telecommunications Agency.
According to the regulations established by Anatel, the instantaneous portugal whatsapp list rate must be 40% of the contracted speed when measuring 95% of accesses, while the so-called average transmission rate must be 80% of the contracted speed, which corresponds to the result of all measurements carried out in a month.
This PROTESTE survey was carried out with a total of 1448 measurements through a sample of consumers from Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
The website www.testeminhainternet.com.br is made available by PROTESTE so that users are encouraged to make their own measurements of internet access speeds over the course of at least one month, and thus gather evidence in the event that the connection is found to be slower than that provided for in the contract, and obtain financial compensation.
