The process of formation and further work of this division is supervised by a representative of top management, usually the commercial director. The structure of the department must meet the requirements of a specific company and depends on the scale of the enterprise, product features and some other factors.

The most common is to have two departments within a commercial division:

The first one is engaged in active sales and attracting new clients, and also responds to incoming requests.

The second one performs sales support functions: collects payments and prepares accompanying documents.

The direct execution of other actions (order formation, shipment, delivery, tracking of financial flows) falls on the shoulders of other departments - production, warehouse, logistics service, accounting.

The structure of the commercial department must fully meet the needs of a specific enterprise. There is no universal model, because companies differ from each other in the range of goods produced or services provided, the geography of product deliveries, sales volumes, etc.
