Food is an important part of every Italian's life. But wait, food is very important to me too, you might have just thought! Maybe it is. Maybe you love to eat. Maybe you love to cook, but you'll realize that you know nothing about food until you go to Italy.
Italians really love their food and take it very seriously. There's no joking around with food, so if you ask them for something stupid like parmesan cheese on a dish that doesn't have parmesan cheese, you'll get a look on your face and your request ignored. You'll probably be called a "stupid tourist" and gossiped about in the kitchen.
I'll admit that I was a little scared when I first went to Italy. Even though I'm bolivia whatsapp list much of a eater (I mostly eat because I have to) and I eat pretty much everything except meat and a few other foods/dishes, I wondered how I would survive in Italy on pasta and pizza every day.
Because, food in Italy is quite limited if you go to a miniature town or a stone village. Local trattorias offer their regional cuisine but hardly anything more than that. How wrong I was!
Even though I ate pasta every day, it was never the same. Handmade, with perfect sauces that showed they came from a local garden, it was a true wonder of taste, aroma, and texture that was worth going to Italy for, even if you're not interested in traveling.
Every new trip to Italy fills me with happiness, not least because of the food. Every region in Italy is special in some way, each with its own aromas and traditional dishes that you won't regret trying.
How to eat like an Italian in Italy?
