Social media addiction is becoming a problem , especially among the young. The first people who want to avoid it are the leaders of the main technology companies. Both Bill Gates , co-founder of Microsoft, and Steve Jobs , founder of Apple, confessed on several occasions that they severely restricted their children's use of technology. Likewise, several former employees of the major technology companies have created the Center for Humanizing Technology, aimed at raising awareness of the need to educate about its proper use.
Along the same lines, technology companies are already releasing tools so that consumers can control the time they spend online. But self-control does not always work. Tim Cook, the current CEO of Apple, has admitted that he spends much more time on his mobile phone than he would like and he did not realize it until he started using these types of tools against addiction, according to Expansión.com .
