Post by samiaseo75 »

The social network created by Mark Zuckerberg has been involved in various scandals regarding the protection of its users' data. Therefore, the creator of Meta (formerly Facebook) and Sheryl Sandberg , the company's current chief operating officer, were supposed to make statements regarding the Cambridge Analytica privacy scandal before the end of September. But they will no longer be forced to make statements because Meta has reached an agreement with the plaintiffs.

As Reuters noted , a court filing reveals that both kenya phone number data sides have reached an agreement. A 60-day stay of proceedings has been requested to finalize a written agreement. Without this settlement and the stay, the defendants would have had to testify by September 20. Thanks to this agreement, Mark Zuckerberg will not have to give details about Facebook's role in the Cambridge Analytica scandal.

The Cambridge Analytica scandal
Facebook, now known as Meta, faced a federal lawsuit in 2018 . The lawsuit was based on the fact that it illegally sold its users' personal information to third parties.

Facebook was accused of failing to adequately protect user data, which was then abused by third parties. Zuckerberg was forced to face the US Congress that same year. He explained that Facebook "made mistakes" and that it had to work to correct them, but he did not explain what happened with Cambridge Analytica.
